Cubs Club

What is Cubs Club?

This year, Donvale Primary School has been fortunate to collaborate with the Lions Club, and we now have our very own Cubs Club! The Cubs Club works together to brainstorm fundraising ideas that support communities in need. We partner with a member of the Lions Club, Pat, who helps bring our ideas to life.

Membership:

We have recently had 2 new students join our club and we're so excited to work with them. It's still not too late to join! Please come and speak to Mrs. Webster if you are interested in joining Cubs Club or feel free to turn up to our next meeting.

What are we doing this term?

This Term, the Cubs Club has come up with two exciting fundraising opportunities, and we’d love your support. We will be collecting stamps (new or used) and bread tags to help raise money to provide wheelchairs for less fortunate communities. If you have any to donate, there are two collection boxes located at the school office.

We truly appreciate your support—and we know the communities we’re helping will too.

Our last session:

During our last meeting on the 12th of June, we participated in a little obstacle course with a blind fold. We got to experience what it would be like to be blind. Pat gave us some information about Helen Keller and the ways that she communicated as someone who was blind and deaf. We all found this so interesting and inspiring!

Many of us felt nervous on the obstacle course and really needed to trust that our partner was going to lead us well. We really enjoyed this activity! - Cubs Club Members.

Next meeting:

Our next meeting will be on Thursday 3rd July at 12:50pm (lunch eating time) in the library!
