Principal's Message

Mrs Rassias

As we bring Term 2 to a close, I would like to express my gratitude to our students, teachers and parents for their dedication to learning this semester. It has been a privilege to serve as the Acting Principal at Donvale this term. I have thoroughly enjoyed working alongside our wonderful staff, students and families, and I thank you for your support. We expect an official announcement regarding the appointment of the school’s next principal to be made in the coming week.

School Production – Call for Helpers!

Our school production is fast approaching, with performance nights scheduled for Tuesday 19th and Wednesday 20th August. To help bring this exciting event to life, we are seeking support from our school community in a few key areas:

  • Sewing and/or costume making
  • Hair and makeup for stage performers
  • Stage lighting and technical support
  • Photography (dress rehearsal, and on the nights)
  • Transportation of props and costumes to the venue

If you have experience in any of these areas or are simply keen to help, we’d love to hear from you. Support is needed both in the lead-up and on the performance nights.

Please contact the school office, your child’s teacher or Mr Reiter if you’re available to assist.

Ticketing details will be sent out at the beginning of Term 3.

Ramping Program Update:

As with many renovation projects, our ramping works are taking a little longer than originally anticipated. According to the latest update from the builder, construction is now expected to be completed by mid-July. The delay is largely due to the handrails being custom-built to meet safety and design specifications.

During the first week of the school holidays, I will be conducting a walkthrough of the site to identify any defects or areas requiring attention before finalisation.

Thank you for your ongoing patience and understanding as we work to ensure a safe and accessible environment for all.

Mid term Reports and Interviews:

The midyear student reports, and parent-teacher interviews held this week provided valuable insights for parents into their child's learning strengths and areas for further development. It is our hope that families will continue to collaborate with us to support their child's educational journey.

Finally our last day of term 2 is Friday 4th July, with students finishing at 2:30pm. Wishing everyone and safe and healthy break and I look forward to seeing you all back on Monday 21st July.
