News from Visual Arts

Our talented Year1/2 students have created wonderful houses during their Art lessons, featuring their families and pets. Some students carefully designed houses that looked just like their own homes, while others used their imaginations to create fantasy houses and completed with pets they dream of having!

It has been a delight to see their creativity come to life through colourful roofs, unique house designs, and imaginative front gardens. Every artwork is full of personality and tells its own special story.

Some of the artworks are on display in the office showcase, while others are exhibited in the Art Room. If you have the opportunity, please stop by and take a look!

Performing Arts News 

This term, students across all year levels are exploring Drama in Performing Arts.

In Prep, students are taking part in a variety of games and activities that encourage them to use their whole bodies to express different emotions, imitate animal movements, and explore different ways of moving and performing.

Students in Years 1 and 2 are developing their acting skills by performing simple everyday situations and short stories.

In Years 3 and 4, each class will work together to perform a Japanese folktale chosen by the class.

Students in Years 5 and 6 are taking on a bigger challenge. They will contribute to writing parts of the script and work together as a whole class to create and perform one story, “The Three-Minute Clock: A Time Travel Adventure.”

All of these activities are helping students develop important skills that will prepare them for next year’s School Production. Throughout the term, I hope students will enjoy exploring Drama, building their confidence, using their imagination, and discovering the fun of stepping into a character and becoming someone completely different on stage.
