Week 3 Greeting

The recent wet weather has certainly reminded us that winter is still here, with some very chilly mornings and evenings across our community. Despite the cold, there are encouraging signs that spring is on the horizon, with the daylight hours beginning to stretch just a little longer each day. On Tuesday, our CPS Athletics Carnival was held, and although I wasn't able to attend, I have heard so many wonderful stories about the day. Students have been eagerly sharing with me which events they enjoyed the most, and it was fantastic to hear about their excitement and school spirit. A special highlight was seeing the enthusiasm of our Year 3 students, who experienced their very first Athletics Carnival after looking forward to it ever since they were in Prep. It was a memorable milestone for them, and it was lovely to hear how much they enjoyed participating alongside their classmates.

Prep – 100 Days of School

Tuesday was also a very special day for our Prep students as they celebrated 100 Days of School. Reaching 100 days of learning is a significant milestone, marking just how much our youngest learners have grown in confidence, independence, and skills since the beginning of the year. To celebrate, students proudly wore specially decorated T-shirts showcasing their creativity and individuality. The effort and imagination that went into each design was truly impressive, and I have had the pleasure of taking photos of only some of these wonderfully creative shirts. Congratulations to all of our Prep students on reaching this exciting achievement, and thank you to our families for helping make the day so special.

Prep 100 Days of School

Swimming Week Commences Next Week!

Our annual Swimming and Water Safety Program begins on Monday, and we are looking forward to two weeks of valuable learning at GESAC. As previously communicated, students will attend swimming lessons each day, which means their usual school routines and timetables will look a little different during this period. It may be helpful to have a conversation with your child about these temporary changes so they know what to expect. We also ask families to ensure that all swimming items, including towels, clothing, underwear and bags, are clearly labelled with your child's name to help us return any misplaced belongings. Finally, thank you to the many parents and carers who have generously volunteered to support our teachers and students throughout the program. Your assistance is greatly appreciated. Before attending, please take a moment to review our Volunteer Policy and ensure that you hold a current Working with Children Check. We look forward to a safe, enjoyable, and successful Swimming and Water Safety Program for all students.

Policy Update

At this week's School Council meeting, several important policy updates were approved. These include the Child Safety and Wellbeing Policy and the Child Abuse (including Grooming) – Identification and Response Policy and Procedures. Families may notice that the Child Abuse (including Grooming) – Identification and Response Policy and Procedures was previously known as the Child Safety Reporting and Responding Obligation Policy. Earlier this year, the Victorian Government updated the Four Critical Actions for Schools: Responding to Incidents, Disclosures and Suspicions of Child Abuse, and our revised policy has been updated to reflect these important changes. School Council also approved the retirement of the CPS Digital Learning Policy. Victorian government schools are now expected to follow the Department of Education's Digital Learning Policy, with individual schools developing Acceptable Use Agreements (AUAs) using the Department's template. Information about the AUAs for parents is available in both English and Japanese. These updated policies will be published on our school website in the coming days. If you have any questions about these policies or would like further information, please do not hesitate to contact the school.

Child Abuse (including Grooming) – Identification and Response Policy and Proceduresです。

Until next forgnight,
