Engagement & Wellbeing

Resilience, Rights & Respectful Relationships:
In our recent Respectful Relationships lesson, Grade 5/6 students have been learning about and focusing on 'Respect in Action'. Through role-playing activities that highlighted personal strengths and positive relationship skills, students discussed and worked in small groups to act out different social situations where respect, teamwork, empathy and problem-solving were needed. They recently identified their own and practised using 'Personal Strengths' such as kindness, leadership, active listening, confidence and cooperation to respond appropriately to challenges or conflicts. This learning helps students to identify and display the characteristics of respectful relationships, teamwork and strategies for resolving conflict. Students explored how their actions and words can affect others and reflected on how personal strengths can help build positive relationships.
SWPBS in Prep
This week the Prep students have been learning about The Stop Routine. This is a strategy the students can use at school if there is something occurring which they don’t like. The students practised this through identifying situations at school when The Stop Routine might be needed and role-playing scenarios in the classroom.
We are very proud of the Preps and how they have been demonstrating our school values each day. We have had many Prep students receive their first GuGu Certificate at Assembly and all three Prep classes have completed a class puzzle this term and earned another class reward! Prep Dunn chose to bring a teddy for a day, Prep Mortlock chose a pyjama day and Prep Greene chose a sweet treat.
Our SRC are very proud to announce that the total raised for the 'Dance for Sick Kids' fundraiser was an incredible $1905.00
Not only did your students have a brilliant time dancing, but they raised enough to coax the teachers to perform the chicken dance at assembly.
Well done, superstars! What an incredible impact you were able to make!
