Spotlight on 5B’s Actor!
We are proud to announce that Ivan Vlasov from 5B has been recognised on the international stage for his acting talent!

Ivan starred in a short film that was recently crowned Best Comedy Short Film at the Gippsland International Film Festival. Well done Ivan, we look forward to seeing more of you on the big screen!

Chess success
Our chess players recently headed up to Ballarat for a tournament at Kryal Castle. It was such a cool experience, especially as it only happens once a year! It’s not every day you get to play competitive chess in a medieval castle surrounded by a moat, drawbridge, and maze. The weather was perfect, so when the kids weren't at the boards, they were busy exploring the grounds.

With over 140 students from 30 different schools, the competition was tough, but our CGPS team held their own. Huge congratulations to our two gold medalists:
Aidan Batyrbekov – Gold with a massive 6.5/7.
Ryan Subhash – Gold in the Prep–Grade 2 category with 6/7.

It was a beautiful day out with great results and plenty of memories made. Well done to the CGPS Chess team!

CGPS Chess Team Claims Top School Trophy at Balwyn North!

Congratulations to our CGPS Chess Team on an outstanding performance at the Balwyn North Primary Inter-School Chess Tournament!

A team of 11 CGPS students competed against 119 players from 21 schools, demonstrating excellent skill, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the day. Their hard work paid off with an impressive haul of two Gold Medals (G3–G4 and G5–6 divisions) and one Bronze Medal (Prep–G2 division), while also securing the prestigious Top School Trophy, outperforming host school Balwyn North and long-time legends Essex Heights.

This fantastic result is a testament to the dedication and teamwork shown by all our players. We are incredibly proud of every student who represented CGPS and contributed to this exceptional achievement!

Well done, CGPS Chess Team! Another memorable success for our school!

Carlton Respects photo blurb

After having participated in the Carlton Respects visit last year, Sophie Nijhof was chosen to take part in a special photoshoot with the Carlton Football Club. She was chosen based on how she participated in, and exemplified the values of, the program. Sophie’s photo is currently on display at Carlton’s training base at Ikon Park.
