Classroom Volunteers

At CGPS, we are incredibly grateful for the support of our parent volunteers who generously give up their time to support our community. We have just started our morning reading support with our Prep to Year 2 students. These small moments make a big difference for our littlest learners, helping to build confidence, fluency and a love of reading.

We are also incredibly grateful to the families of our older students who are willing to volunteer in our junior classrooms, supporting our youngest learners and meeting some new faces along the way. As we continue to grow and expand the program, we welcome any support from families. If your child is in Year 6, then you already know the learning journey and growth it takes to get there — and that experience and insight are incredibly valuable in the younger years.

This reading program is just one of the many volunteer opportunities available at our school. Throughout the year, we also welcome support with camps and excursions, lunchtimes at the park, museum visits and supporting our EAL program. We would love to continue expanding volunteer involvement across all year levels and programs, and any help is greatly appreciated.

To become a volunteer, parents and carers are required to attend a volunteer induction session to ensure they are updated with the latest child safety information. Volunteers must also complete a volunteer agreement and provide a copy of their Working with Children Check.

If you are interested in volunteering, please reach out to the school office so we can begin planning another volunteer induction session. If you have already completed a volunteer induction sessions and wish to offer some of your time, let the office know of your availability and we will reach out.
