Education Support Staff Appreciation Day 

Education Support Appreciation Day was celebrated on Saturday 16th of May and I would like to take the opportunity to acknowledge and thank the incredible Education Support Staff at Carlton Gardens Primary School. They truly are the glue that holds our school together. Every day, they work quietly behind the scenes and alongside our students and staff to ensure that our school is a caring, supportive and inclusive place for everyone.

Our office team answers every phone call and question with patience and kindness. They fix scraped knees, hand out countless bandaids and ice packs, calm worried students and wipe away many tears throughout the day. Their care and support are often the first point of connection for our families and community.

In classrooms and learning spaces across the school, our Education Support Staff help students learn, regulate, connect and succeed. They provide different learning experiences, support students to co-regulate, celebrate successes big and small, and sometimes simply offer a hug when that is what is needed most. They know our students deeply — their strengths, interests, worries and personalities — and they respond with incredible compassion and care.

Our ES staff go above and beyond every single day. They give up weekends to make dinosaurs to support a learning experience, create social stories, blow bubbles, play games, and find creative ways to connect with every little person they work with. Their dedication, flexibility and commitment to students is extraordinary.

We are incredibly lucky to have such an exceptional team of Education Support Staff supporting our students, staff and families each and every day. Their impact on our school community is immeasurable, and we thank them for all that they do.
