Kim Rowlands, Director of Pastoral Care

Eco Week will be running across the College next Week - May 25 - May 29.

Our student leadership team have planned some events to not only raise awareness of environmental concerns, but also to generate House Spirit, promote sustainability and have some fun.

Monday 25 May: will see an academic focus - students are encouraged to listen to the Student Notices for further details.

Tuesday 26 May: House Litter Relay - run by our Sports Captains - students will collect litter from around the school in a relay-format House activity. House points will be awarded on the day.

Wednesday 27 May: Our Arts Captains will be facilitating an Eco Art competition - turning trash into treasure - rubbish collected from the previous day will be utilised to promote the notion of Recycling and Upcycling.

Thursday 28 May: Students can engage in a swap meet/Op shop run by our Mission and Identity Leaders. In the lead up to next week, students are encouraged to bring into school any pre-loved clothing items - still in wearable and acceptable condition, clean and washed. Any student making a donation of clothing items will receive a token for their items that they can exchange for anything in the 'MKC Op Shop'. Students unable to donate may still purchase items, which will be valued at $1-$3.

Friday 29 May: Student Yoga in the Gym run by our Wellbeing Captain with support of several House Captains and a Staff vs Student Soccer match on the oval - both activities designed to promote healthy living and a positive mental health environment for all.
