We are only three weeks away from opening night of this year’s Creative Generation State Schools on Stage performance. This year we have three students in featured roles:
Genevieve Krause (year 11) is one of the featured dancers in the show and will be performing in a number of items across the program.
Issak Judd and Jefferson Dinnis are both in the Symphony Orchestra and the James Morrison Big Band and will be featured in a stand alone jazz number in the show. Issak and Jefferson were thrilled to meet the one and only James Morrison at a weekend rehearsal last week - they were blown away by his talent, enthusiasm and generosity and picked up some pro tips for jazz performance.
We are incredibly proud of these three senior students who are juggling their course-load with lots of extra-curricular rehearsals, still making the magic happen for GGen. Congratulations to them all - we can’t wait to see the show at the end of the first week back.
We had a fantastic showing last night at the Fanfare Regional Finals. Our ensembles really stepped up to perform with confidence and flair, and we were rewarded with the Most Outstanding Ensemble for Paganini’s performance.
A huge congratulations to Jamie-Lee Zhang and her string students on this accolade - it is so well deserved.
Congratulations also to Christine Elsworth, Katrina Fawns and Jeff Jarrott on their selection and performances at this elite level. We are so proud of the work that you do and the incredible outcomes for our music students.
What a great way to end Term 2!
