Inspiring Young Student Entrepreneurs

Gap Enterprises is our school-based initiative and promotional platform designed to celebrate, support and showcase the entrepreneurial spirit of students at The Gap State High School.

Through Gap Enterprises, we will shine a spotlight on our Young Student Entrepreneurs, students who are turning ideas into action, creating products and services, developing side hustles, and learning valuable real-world business skills while still at school.

The initiative aims to inspire students to think creatively, solve problems, build confidence, and explore entrepreneurship as a genuine future career pathway. By sharing the stories of our Young Student Entrepreneurs through the school's social media channels and community networks, we hope to encourage innovation, resilience, and enterprise across our entire school community.

Each month we will shine a spotlight on one of our talented young entrepreneurs.

We encourage you to support these young business people by utilising their services or buying their products,

Or if your young person has a business or side hustle and you would like to share their story, please email: marketing@thegapshs.eq.edu.au

We asked the boys a few questions:

What is your business story?

We started off by just doing neighbours and family members cars, we realised that it was something we both enjoyed and there was real opportunities for us. From there we decided to make a business out of it.

What inspired you to start?

We were inspired to start through our passion for cars, and also seeing the opportunities and work available.

What are some challenges you’ve overcome?

Some of the challenges we have overcome were the initial confidence to offer our services to people. As well as this, we ran into problems with transporting our gear around to jobs but have since problem solved by buying a trailer that we can transport on our bike with our equipment.

Do you have any advice for other students

My advice to any students considering starting their own business, is find something that you have a passion for, and enjoy doing it, and base your business around that.

How can the school community support you?

The school community can significantly help us by simply word of mouth, passing our business and work onto parents, siblings, anyone really. Or by booking a car detailing job for your cars!
