Trinity Broccoli Festival 🥦🥦🥦🥦🥦🥦🥦🥦🥦🥦🥦🥦🥦🥦🥦🥦🥦🥦🥦🥦

What fabulous fun we had! There was so much excitement today as students harvested our delicious broccoli and bok choy! We had so many volunteers from across our school to help with cooking! Ms Sally and myself had 20 assistant chefs harvesting, washing, chopping, cooking and serving our delicious snacks, fried with garlic and salt! At least 180 students came to eat and loved it and most came back for three helpings! It was so wonderful to see our students so excited about eating our own delicious vegetables.

A big thank you to all our helpers.

At Trinity, we believe it is a vital part of education for students to see the journey from sowing the seeds, caring for the plants, harvesting and then preparation and finally eating! Today we saw the culmination of that and it was wonderful!

Compost Ninjas

Well done to our Year 5/6 Compost Ninja team who collect our food scraps every day and feed them to the worms. By doing this, we save so much waste from going to landfill, helping to reduce methane gas, and therefore global warming. It is so good to know we are doing such a good job of saving our food scraps and turning them into great compost for our gardens!

Have a great week everyone! Thanks for your great efforts in helping us live in a way that is kinder to our environment!
