Remembrance Day

Our school joined together under the COLA for a Remembrance Day Prayer Service on Tuesday 11th November. Led by Mrs McInnes, staff and students reflected on the significance of the day, listened to In Flanders Fields, recited Prayers of the Faithful, heard The Last Post and observed a minute of silence.

Our School Captains, Lachlan Dunn and Lilian Davies, with Vice Captains Darby Cameron and Anna Murphy, represented the school at the Narrabri RSL Memorial Service. Lachlan and Lilian delivered an oration on Remembrance Day as well as laid a wreath in remembrance. 

Narrabri High School Transition

On Wednesday, 12th November, Mrs Nott accompanied Year 6 students to Narrabri High School for their second transition session. Students took part in a range of hands-on activities, including cooking their own pizzas in Home Economics, making engraved wooden boxes in Woodwork, and decorating tiles with special paint pens in Art. They also wrote letters to their future selves, which will be returned to them in Year 12. It was a fantastic day and a great glimpse into high school life!

Year 6 Resilience Program

Students from Years 5 and 6 were given the opportunity to participate in the Boosting Boys and Girls Building Girls Up programs, facilitated by Centacare staff from New England North West.

Running each week throughout Terms 3 and 4, the boys’ program focuses on personal development by building emotional strength, resilience, and fostering respectful relationships. The girls have also been enjoying their sessions, which focus on building self-esteem, understanding friendships, and practising positive self-talk.

Each week, students are discovering new ways to stay confident, motivated, and be kind to themselves and others. Both programs have supported our students to feel happy, connected, and proud of their personal growth.
