Principal's Report
Term 4, Week 7

Dear St FX Parents and Carers,
There's just under four weeks left in the school year and classroom teachers have been hard at work over the past few weeks finalising Semester Two Report grades and comments. These reports will be made available to parents on Thursday 11th December through the Compass portal. If you have lost your login details, be sure to contact the front office in time for the reports being released.
Colour Run
The weather challenged us again this year…but the Colour Run went ahead as planned, and many teachers were SLIMED! Although it was loud under the cola there was a lot of fun had by everyone. In addition, the funds to purchase new school marquees and musical equipment was reached and are being purchased as we speak! Thank you to all of our families who volunteered to help and of course our P and F Committee who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make these events happen for our students and school community. A special shout out to our local firefighter volunteers who supplied water on the day and to Vanessa Parish for setting up the course. What a team!
2026 Class Structures
There has been considerable thought put into the 2026 class structure. We have looked at many different models to accommodate our school population, whilst trying to keep classes as small as possible to support the quality teaching and learning occurring. I am aiming to announce the class teachers and the class structures for 2026 in the next edition of the newsletter after all staffing positions have been finalised.
We understand that previously families have been given the opportunity to request preferences regarding your child/ren’s class placement for the upcoming year. However, please be advised that our highly professional and dedicated staff, including classroom teachers and the leadership team, will be solely responsible for the complex and considered task of formulating all class lists. Thus, we kindly inform parents that we will not be accepting specific teacher or classroom placement requests for this year.
Your child/ren will be informed of their class placement and meet their new classroom teacher for 2026 on Wednesday 10th December 2025. Class lists will be communicated to parents and families the following day.
Parish Christmas Party
Saturday 6th December, Mass at Saint Francis Xavier's Church will be commencing at 6.00pm. This will be followed by the Parish Christmas Party at the Parish Centre. We would love to have families join us for the Mass and Party to follow. Children are invited to come dressed in Christmas clothes and participate in some fun activities. A sausage sizzle will be provided. Please bring a plate to share.
Assemblies
We have two assemblies remaining this term - Friday 5th December at 2:45pm (general awards) and the following Friday 12th December at 2:30pm.
At our assembly on December 12th, the Term 4 Principal's Awards will be presented to students who consistently demonstrate the Three Rules for Living - I am a Learner, I am Safe and I am Valued, Cared For and Respected. We will also hear our student representatives share some of their experiences as student leaders this year and identify our next steps for student voice at St Francis Xavier's. We will also have a special performance by our Kindergarten students.
All families and friends are warmly invited to our assemblies held under the COLA.
Presentation Day - Tuesday 16th December
A letters will be sent via the Compass Parent Portal to parents of children who are receiving an award at the annual Presentation Day ceremony at the Crossing Theatre in Narrabri. Please note - all Kindergarten students will receive a book prize to celebrate the end of their first year of school. The Presentation Day will be held on Tuesday 16th December at the Crossing Theatre, commencing at 10.00am.
Federation Farm Parent Representative
The Narrabri Federation Farm is a unique community asset and share farm that provides financial and educational support to the local Narrabri schools. The St Francis Xavier’s Parent Representative on the committee is a crucial liaison. This representative helps uphold the farm’s objective as an educational resource and confirms the financial returns are used to enhance the overall learning environment and student opportunities within our school community.
Commitment: one meeting per school term (outside work hours)
