Faith and Learning Walks
Term 3
Please Note: 4Patrick will be attending their swimming lessons during next weeks Parish Mass time, therefore it will only be 4M and 4N attending Mass and having open classrooms and morning tea.
First Holy Communion
This weekend we say a special prayer for all of the Year 3 students who are receiving the sacrament of First Holy Communion. Our entire school community is warmly welcome to join us at Mass on Saturday 9th Sept at 5pm, Sunday 10th Sept at 10am or 12pm.
Congratulations to our students and their families, along with a thank you to Mrs Woodhouse and Fr Dan for their spiritual and religious guidance on the journey to making this important sacrament.
CEF Fundraiser - Ninja Challenge - Zing Activ
Next Friday 15th September, throw on your PJs for Mini-Vinnies, pop on your sneakers, bring a GOLD COIN and enjoy some ninja challenge fun run by the team at Zing Activ.
Ignite Conference 2023
The Ignite Conference is a contemporary Catholic youth conference that has been held in Brisbane since 2001. This conference has been successful in engaging young people with the Gospel and drawing them into a relationship with the Church. Sydney Catholic Schools is supporting this initiative and both students and staff are highly encouraged to attend. The information contained in this document outlines details, participation/supervision information as well as the registration process required by both students and staff. Date: Thursday 28th September to Sunday 1st October 2023 (Term 3 school holidays – long weekend)
Location: Broken Bay Cathedral Precinct, Waitara

Age: The conference is open to students and staff from Primary and Secondary schools (Other family members are welcome but will not receive SCS discounts if they are not staff or students from SCS)

Cost:
SCS will subsidise the total cost of the conference for:
- Primary school students (Ignite Kids program)
(Full price ticket usually $120)
- For Secondary school students (Ignite High program)
(Full price ticket usually $325)
- For all SCS Staff including Head Office Staff (Ignite Central program)
(Full price ticket usually $325)
Note: Cost includes all meals on Friday, Saturday and Sunday including lunch, dinner, morning/afternoon tea packs. Cost does not include dinner on Thursday night, however, food will be available for purchase.

School Leaders tour of NSW Parliament House
On Tuesday 5th September I had the privilege of taking our 4 school captains to visit NSW Parliament House via an invitation from our local member Maryanne Stuart. We joined other schools from the electorate of Heathcote and had a tour of the legislative assembly and legislative council. Our leaders were actively engaged and enthusiastic the whole day, representing our school with pride. We thank Mrs Stuart for her invitation and we look forward to working with her and her office again in the future.
Zooper Dooper Fundraiser
We are continuing to sell Zooper Doopers over the next 2 weeks, look out for Sophie in Year 6 and her team on the playground at lunchtimes.
