Over the past month, the College commenced a comprehensive 2024 Captaincy journey. Hopeful candidates completed interviews with the College Leadership Team and since then we have seen active participation from both staff and students in the voting phase.

The noteworthy aspect of this process is the overwhelming number of candidates as well as the overwhelming voter turnout. We extend our thanks to both staff and students for their genuine interest and investment in the selection of our 2024 leaders.

Voting has concluded for our two College Captains and House Captains, with Portfolio Captaincy voting commencing next week. The candidates themselves deserve commendation for their dedication. The process involved a rigorous online application form as part of the Raise the Bar leadership program. Each candidate had to detail their engagement and participation throughout their time at the College, their leadership experiences and aspirations and they had to indicate the support shown to them by staff in their leadership endeavours.

As we all eagerly await the announcement of our 2024 captains, which will take place during a College assembly on Thursday 24 August, the College acknowledges each candidates commitment to the Mt A community and is immensely proud to have students who exemplify leadership qualities. Parents/carers of the successful candidates will be contacted so they can attend this important assembly. This will be followed by a formal commissioning ceremony in Term 4 - stay tuned!

It is important to note, that a badge does not denote a leader in our community. Some of our best leaders are the ones without a badge who work quietly behind the scenes. I say this because I look forward to working with the entire 2024 cohort next year, and to seeing what they can achieve and the legacy they will leave.
