Heads of House

As we delve into another exciting week of learning and growth at Mount Alvernia, we are thrilled to mark a significant milestone – the celebration of only 100 days remaining for our Year 12 students of 2023. This momentous occasion serves as a reminder of how far our seniors have come and the immense potential that lies ahead.

Just as a skilled athlete maintains their focus and determination, our Year 12 students are encouraged to keep their foot on the pedal and not throw in the towel. Much like the resilience exhibited by athletes, our students have shown dedication, perseverance, and the ability to overcome challenges throughout their academic journey.

Speaking of champions, let's draw inspiration from the recent achievement of the Diamonds, a shining example of what determination and perseverance can achieve. The Diamonds secured their 12th World Cup victory – an incredible feat that showcases their unwavering commitment to excellence. It's important to note that this victory didn't come without hurdles. In the preliminary rounds, England managed to defeat Australia by just one goal. This setback, however, only fuelled the Diamonds' motivation for a remarkable comeback. The lesson here is crystal clear: setbacks can be powerful motivators that lead to even greater success.

As our Year 12 students continue their march towards graduation, it's a timely lesson to reflect and internalise. The rules and expectations they adhere to, their consistency in turning up, and their commitment to keeping their academic momentum are all qualities that will serve them well not only in their final year but also in their future endeavours. Just as future employers will value these attributes, so too will they appreciate the dedication and tenacity displayed in the face of challenges.

So, as we celebrate the countdown of 100 days until graduation, let us all rally behind our Year 12 students. Encourage them to channel their inner Diamonds, to remember that setbacks are simply steppingstones toward success, and to embrace each day with the enthusiasm and determination that will undoubtedly lead to a triumphant finish.

Here's to the last leg of the journey, Year 12 Class of 2023! Let's make these 100 days count and showcase the brilliance that comes from dedication, hard work, and an unyielding spirit.
