Secondary Art

Year 7 students have researched the art of the Tjanpi weavers, an Aboriginal art group made up of over 400 women across Australia's central desert.
Students are creating their own Australian animals using the Tjanpi weavers' art as inspiration for their own pieces. Watch out for our animals in next term's Marian!
Year 8 Textiles studentshave been designing their own outfits this week using croquis. They then had the challenge of making outfits from newspaper.
Year 8 Art and Visual Communications students have been making collagraphs for printmaking.
Year 11 and 12 Art students recently went to Daylesford to visit the Convent gallery and gallery Thirteen05.
Our wonderful art assistant, Jodie has been trialling the use of glazes in the school kiln. Jodie kindly provided her expertise in demonstrating how glaze is used to Year 11 students. Our students then produced a miniature ornament each.
Year 9 and 10 traditional art students have been exploring the techniques used with the drawing mediums of oil pastel, soft pastel, and charcoal with the creation of pumpkins.
They are currently working on tattoo designs using ink and ink washes. Watch this space as they will be revealed next term!
Ahoy! Year 9 and 10 3D Art students are using the slab method to create clay treasure chests. Currently these are drying out waiting to be fired over the school holidays.
