Child Safe Standard 11 – Implementation of Child Safety Practices

At Resurrection School, the safety and wellbeing of every child is at the heart of everything we do. Creating a child-safe environment is not simply about having policies and procedures in place; it is about ensuring that these practices are actively implemented, understood and embedded in our everyday school culture.

Child Safe Standard 11: Implementation of Child Safety Practices focuses on ensuring that organisations have effective systems in place to regularly review, improve and embed their child safety practices.

At our school, this means that we are continually working to ensure our child safety policies and procedures are understood and put into practice by staff, volunteers and members of our school community.

We do this by:

• regularly reviewing and updating our child safety policies and procedures;
• ensuring staff and volunteers understand their child safety responsibilities;
• providing ongoing child safety training and professional learning;
• maintaining clear processes for identifying, responding to and reporting concerns about child safety and wellbeing;
• listening to and responding to feedback from children, families and staff;
• reviewing incidents and concerns to identify opportunities for improvement; and

• regularly monitoring our practices to ensure child safety remains a priority across all areas of school life.

   

Child safety is a shared responsibility. Every member of our school community has an important role to play in creating an environment where children feel safe, respected, listened to and supported.

We are committed to continually strengthening our child-safe culture and practices. By regularly reflecting on what we do and looking for opportunities to improve, we can help ensure that Resurrection School continues to be a place where the safety, wellbeing and best interests of every child are protected.
