Term 1

Term 1 has passed very quickly. Each of the stages have been busy in the library

Kinders have been learning all about books - what is a cover, title and what is an author? We have also been learning all about the library and learning how to borrow and return. They have been doing a fabulous job at returning and borrowing.

Stage 1 have been learning all about authors. This term we have been concentrating on Australian authors such as Pamela Allen, Margaret Wild and Nick Bland. We have also read lots of beautiful new books that have arrived in our library.

Stage 2 and Stage 3 have been accessing our reading platforms so that they can access books at school and at home. We have also been learning about genres and what the genre is that we like reading. Is it adventure, crime, fantasy, non fiction or graphic novels?

Borrowing

As the children only come to the library for a lesson every fortnight I am finding that they are not returning their books. The Library is open at 2nd break every week on a Wednesday and Thursday so please encourage your child to return their book every week and they can borrow a new one.
