Geometric Measure: Position

Learning Intention: To describe position and give and follow simple directions.

Stage 1 

Representing Whole Numbers

Learning Intention: To apply an understanding of place value and the role of zero to read, write and order two- and three-digit numbers. 

Stage 2

Geometric Measure: Angles

Learning Intention: To identify angles and classify them by comparing to a right angle.

Stage 3

Representing Quantity Fractions

Learning Intention: Determines 12, 14, 15 and 110  of measures and quantities.

Newton Navigators 

We are proud to celebrate Sam Stephens on his selection into the Newton Navigators mathematics enrichment program, an achievement that reflects his exceptional performance in mathematics. Sam will join other talented Year 5 and 6 students from across the Armidale Diocese in this program, exploring advanced mathematical concepts beyond the standard curriculum. He will engage with rich content from the Australian Mathematics Trust, tackling topics such as advanced arithmetic, geometry, patterns, and high-level problem-solving, supported by expert educator Tim Unwin from the Armidale Catholic School Office. This opportunity is designed to challenge and inspire, and we are excited to see Sam grow as a confident and capable young mathematician.
