News from Visual Arts

The very first project for our Year 1/2 students was “I Am an Artist” project. They began by imagining themselves as real artists. They drew themselves in action, holding paintbrushes, standing proudly by their easels, and getting ready to create a masterpiece!

Performing Arts News – Year 1/2 and Year 3/4

Year 1/2 and Year 3/4 students have been working on creating their own rhythm patterns and performing them for the class. Through this project, they are building on the skills developed last year.

Year 1/2 students are learning to write rhythm notation in four beats, while Year 3/4 students are composing rhythms that express a story or emotion.

In response to student voice, they will be performing their own rhythm compositions on Taiko drums at the end of the unit. They are especially looking forward to showcasing their creativity and teamwork through this performance.
