Principal's News

We have hit the middle of February and have enjoyed such a wonderful fortnight around the school. It all began with our preps beginning their first official day of school on the 2nd February and stepping into their morning routines, it is great to see the smiles that are greeting our teaching staff each morning as our preps are coming into their classrooms. School is always a big change but we are so proud of our newest students to our school and their efforts over the last few weeks. They are learning so many little routines and day to day practical knowledge as they immerse themselves in to primary school. Thank you to our teaching staff and education support team for all the work going on behind the scenes to support each day. Additionally, thank you to our families who have helped build these routines and supported our staff over the first two weeks. Well done everyone!

School Fete

A group of families came together on Wednesday evening to kick off our 2026 School Fete campaign. We have this date set for Saturday 21st November and are looking to grow our group of volunteers and supporters. The school fete is such a highlight for our students and is often one of their most fond memories of primary school. It is also a wonderful way to give back to the school community, meet other parents and contribute to something, walking away with a great sense of pride in the school. The group will next meet on Thursday 5th March at 6pm with Jarrod M (father of Harper – Yr 1) organising the meeting invitation with the meeting led by Aden D (father of Ally and Zac).

The call for help is here, no experience is needed, just a desire to help be a part of a team, please register your interest via the link here.

Welcome Picnic

We were met with some beautiful weather to come together and celebrate the end to the first week of the term, watching some great performances from our students as they showcased their Footsteps dance routines that were rehearsed over the course of the week.

Thank you to our families for joining us and celebrating our students and their performances. It was great to see our students perform so confidently to an audience and there were plenty of excited faces as they saw a family member in the audience.

Parent-Teacher Interviews

Parent-Teacher Interviews are currently available for bookings via the Sentral Parent App, these are a new initiative for 2026 as a step towards building really positive relationships between home and school and our classrooms and families.

Please take an opportunity to make a booking if you haven't already done so. If you are having any difficulties doing this, please speak to the office who can assist you with your booking.

Please note, that teaching staff do not have any availability to meet beyond the three days listed, we have adjusted our meeting schedule to allow for these meetings to occur and teachers don't have a great deal of flexibility beyond this.

Addressing Racism

All schools are expected to address any instances of racism in a timely and comprehensive manner. Learning to be respectful of each other is a fundamental life skill for children and the role that schools play in this area seems to be increasing each year. Racism is not OK at any time and should not be ignored.

Parents and carers can help in this space by having a conversation with their children about what racism is, why it is not OK and how they can be careful not to use racist remarks. From time-to-time children will make racist remarks, often in a careless way, without understanding the hurt that can be caused. Addressing this would be not only helpful at school but it’s a socially expected norm that everyone needs to know and understand.

If anyone has any concerns about their child being subjected to racist remarks please contact us.

Anaphylaxis Reminder

At Caulfield PS we currently have 9 students and two staff who are at risk of anaphylaxis (across a range of year levels) if exposed to certain allergens, with the most prevalent of these being peanuts and/or nut-based products. For this reason, we kindly ask that families are mindful of this when making lunches for students. Anaphylaxis can be a serious life-threatening condition, and we need to take great care to ensure anyone effected can be safe at school. This illness is considered so serious that it is covered by Ministerial Order 706 which sets out very clear instructions for schools to follow.

Under no circumstances, should children share food at any time, because you never know if a cross contamination has occurred at home in the food preparation. We ask for the support of all families in the management of anaphylaxis and the safety of students at our school.

2026 Parent Payments Reminder

Parent payments help our school to operate effectively. CPS provides a significant range of programs that cannot be delivered without the optional support of families. We would like to thank the parents that have already made these payments.
