From the SRC

To celebrate NAIDOC Week, our school held a series of events during the first week back. On Monday, we began with a flag-raising ceremony to honour and acknowledge the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander flags. On Tuesday, students enjoyed a live cultural performance featuring traditional Indigenous music. Later in the week, on both Thursday and Friday, there were screenings of The Sapphires, a film that celebrates Indigenous talent and storytelling. 

The SRC has introduced Bake Sales to raise funds for SRC projects and events. We have held two so far and have raised $145. We have a roster of SRC members who supply delicious treats such as cookies, lamingtons, and brownies. 

The remaining Bake Sale dates that we have scheduled for Term 3 are:

• Monday 10th August
• Monday 25th August 
• Monday 8th September
