Koorie Perspectives Update

Koorie Perspectives Update
As many of you will remember, FPS participated in Wear It Yellow Day as part of our National Reconciliation Week program last term. Over the holidays, the Koorie Perspectives School Improvement Team received an email from Children’s Ground sharing some exciting news. With our incredible fundraising total of $2,653, FPS has been recognised as one of the Top 5 School Fundraisers in this year’s Wear it Yellow campaign. In fact, we were the third highest fundraising school! Together, the FPS community has shown incredible support for First Nations children and families.
Because of this, Children’s Ground has very kindly sent the school a prize pack featuring some amazing First Nations books (pictured below) to add to the FPS library for students to enjoy. We also received a shoutout on the Children’s Ground social media.
We are very proud to have contributed to such an amazing cause, and can’t wait to match our efforts next year! Thank you to those who donated to support education for First Nations communities.
Keep your eyes peeled for our annual Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) report and information on how you can get involved in upcoming newsletters. Also take a look at our Koorie Action Plan to see how we celebrate the culture, knowledge, and experiences of First Nations Peoples.
