Wellbeing & Engagement

Wellbeing & Engagement at CHES
At CHES, student wellbeing is a shared priority. Whether learning onsite, online, or from your base school, students have access to a dedicated Wellbeing & Engagement Team who are ready to listen, support, and connect them with the right resources.
Who can students go to for support?
- Fabiano Nigro, Assistant Principal (Wellbeing & Engagement) and wellbeing contact for Higher Education Studies (HES) students.
- Alan James, Wellbeing & Engagement Leader for VCE students.
- Andre Sabatino and Brendan West, Wellbeing & Engagement Leaders for Enrichment Electives students.
- Meaghan Morley, Mental Health Practitioner, who provides counselling and early-intervention support.
- Fan Li, Academic Support Officer, who offers personalised academic and wellbeing support.
And of course, Daisy, CHES' certified therapy dog, who always enjoys spending time with students.
Students seeking support can contact their Wellbeing & Engagement Leader through Microsoft Teams to discuss any concerns and explore available supports. CHES' wellbeing approach is underpinned by its SWPBS framework, encouraging students to Reach, Connect, Understand, and Think Ahead, helping create a positive and supportive learning environment for all.
New Level 3 Furniture
Recently, students have enjoyed some exciting updates to the Level 3 study space. New furniture has been added and the table layout has been redesigned to create a more welcoming, comfortable, and functional environment. These changes have helped refresh the space, giving students a more enjoyable place to study, collaborate with peers, and make the most of their time at school.
"As a part-time level 3 dweller, the revamped, renovated, remarkable study space is a massive upgrade! The tables are great for getting work done and also great to work collaboratively with friends. The new couch areas are really nice - green and popping - and the whole space feels much more welcoming and more geared towards learning. The furniture looks much brighter and more colourful - and the improvements have made the CHES study space a nicer place to study, hang out, play coup and other board games and spend time between classes." - Jet C (HES Student Federation Uni - Biology)
