Year 9 News
August 2026
It has been a busy term for Year 9’s, in the classroom, students have been focused on continuing to develop their learning and study skills.
In Science, students have been working hard learning about all things Chemistry, while in English, classes have begun watching their chosen films. In PE, the Year 9 students have started their coaching unit, where they are taking their classmates through specific skills for a chosen sport.
The Year 9 students have also been enjoying their Fridays, exploring Melbourne City as part of their Skillz excursions. They have had the opportunity to visit the MCG, explore the National Gallery, participate in a Street Art Tour and take part in a tour of Parliament and a lot more.
Year 9 students have also represented the school in the Interschool Basketball competition. We had a Year 9 girls' team and three Year 9 boys' teams competing, with students demonstrating great teamwork, sportsmanship, and school spirit throughout the day.
Our Year 9 Leaders Jarrah, Christina, Addy and Bailey did an exceptional job at leading the Junior School assembly to celebrate the academic achievements of students within Junior School. Congratulations to our Year 9 Academic Award recipients.
It has been an exciting term for Year 9’s so far, and it has been fantastic to see students embracing the opportunities available to them both inside and outside the classroom.
