Environmental Education News

Foundation and Year 1/2 students are learning about the importance of recycling, both at home and at school, building their understanding around what items can go in which bin. Making compost will also be a focus to demonstrate how our organic waste can be turned into a valuable resource.

Year 3/4 students are out in the school garden learning about plant propagation where they will undertake hands on tasks around pruning, plant cuttings, plant division, grafting and espalier. There is also plenty of fresh produce in the garden at the moment, so students will have the opportunity to try some the this fresh, organic bounty.

Year 5/6 students are honing their expertise on one thing of interest they have located in the school garden. Students have selected a range of interests from a variety of different fruit trees, vegetable plants and herbs, right through to living creatures, such as bugs, birds and fish.
