Fire Safety

PRC students were granted the opportunity to meet with firefighters Anna Collins , Jay Mclellan and Anna Williams. The trio showed our students various videos of fire developing and encouraged them to estimate how long it takes for fire to spread, teaching them how quickly fire can spread in a house.

During the presentation, the trio educated our students on a variety of fire safety protocols they can implement such as annual checks on fire alarms and disposing off cigarettes correctly. The floor was open for the students to hold discussions and to inquire.

To finalise the presentation, a fire truck was brought on site for the students to observe, enter and try on some of the suits and equipment a firefighter will typically wear.

During the presentation, the firefighters received an emergency call and had to respond immediately. The students witnessed how quickly firefighters respond to emergency calls and get on the road.

Overall, it was fantastic to see how the students engaged with the firefighters and how many questions they had for them. We’re looking forward to working with them again in the future.
