The week between Palm Sunday and Holy Saturday is Holy Week. It is the holiest week in the Church's year.

Holy Thursday Prayer

Let us Pray......

Jesus,

You humbled yourself as a servant for my sake,

giving yourself as food and drink

and stooping down to wash the feet of your friends.

Help me to imitate you,

To love all your children as you have loved me.

Help me to pour myself out into love for the service of others.

Help me to embrace the call to true friendship:

to lay down my needs and wants

to lay down my desire for control or status,

to truly lay down my life for my friends.

Let my life be one that preaches your Gospel

in action more than words.

Open me up to your boundless love

that i may be open to the places in my life

where you are stooping down to wash my feet

so I may wash the feet of others.

Amen

Saint Joseph's Mini-Fete - Raising Money for Caritas

We are very proud to announce that our St. Joseph's community has raised $3600.00 for Caritas through our mini-fete, Project Compassion Boxes and more! Thank you to all of our wonderful families and friends for donating goods, attending the mini-fete and supporting your children to put social justice into action.

Our students have really been taking on board the Catholic Social Teaching - 'Do What is Best For Everyone Not Just Yourself'. Through listening to Caritas stories about people from different parts of the world they have learnt about peoples struggles and the simple things that these people do not have, that we take for granted. There have been so many examples of our students acting to help others who have less, from donating their left over money to Caritas, door knocking to collect money, busking, donating their time to work on a stall at the mini-fete and making sure they did not buy anything from the cake stall that had chocolate in it because they had given up chocolate for Lent.

Leo B. has raised $275.00 for Caritas by busking; thank you Leo for your wonderful contribution to Caritas!

Catholic Identity Awards

We congratulate Pippa G. and Atonella S. for being the first recipients of our Catholic Identity Awards this year. Pippa and Antonella received the award for recognising the human dignity of the people that they interact with in their everyday life. They put this 'catholic social teaching' into action through the way they greet, treat and speak to people.
