Term 1 Reports and Parent Student Teacher Conferences

Reporting overview at UHS

At UHS, in addition to ongoing feedback on specific assessment and class tasks, students and parents/carers receive the following formal reports and opportunities for feedback and reflection on learning:

ReportPurposeFrequency
Progress Reports - Attitude and EffortThe Attitude and Effort Rubric provides students with feedback on how they are progressing in each focus area of the following focus areas: Respectful Relationships; Engagement in Learning activities; Appropriate use of Device;  and Organisation. This is an opportunity to identify strengths and areas for growth in learning habits.6 times per year
Progress Reports - AchievementThe Progress Report Achievement score is a progress measure of student understanding of the curriculum skills and knowledge covered by their class within the reporting cycle. It is not based on a single summative assessment but on demonstrations of learning throughout the cycle. Student progress can be demonstrated in various ways, including class work, observations, and formal and informal assessments. 4 times per year (end of each term)
Student Learning GoalsStudent Learning Goals are submitted during each term. Students set a learning goal for each focus area in the Attitude and Effort rubric and an achievement percentage goal for each subject they are doing in the semester. Students can reflect on their goals from the previous cycle before submitting them for the next cycle. Time is provided in the connect program during terms one and three to set the learning goals. Students are prompted via Compass Newsfeed at the start of terms two and four to update their learning goals if needed.4 times per year
Semester Reports - Victorian Curriculum and VCE S/N

The purpose of the Victorian Curriculum Report is to provide Year 7 to 10 students and parents/guardians with feedback on student achievement progress against the Victorian Curriculum standards for the semester.

The purpose of the Semester S / N Report is to provide Year 10 to 12 students and parents/carers with feedback on the Satisfactory (S) or Not Satisfactory (N) completion of required outcomes for that subject.

2 times per year (end of Terms 2 and 4)
Parent Student Teacher ConferencesTo complement the written report cycles, we conduct Parent Student Teacher (PST) Conferences twice a year. The purpose of the PST Conferences is to allow families to have a brief conversation with their child’s teachers to discuss their progress and share information relevant to their child’s participation in that subject. To maximise access to these conferences they are conducted  via WEBEX (video conferencing).2 times per year (during Terms 1 and 3)
