Healthy Students Learn Better
As we move through the school year, we would like to remind families of the importance of keeping children home when they are unwell. While we understand that balancing family, work, and school commitments can be challenging, sending an unwell child to school can impact both their recovery and the wellbeing of others.
Children who attend school when they are sick often find it difficult to concentrate, participate in learning, and engage fully in daily activities. Rest is an important part of recovery and helps students return to school feeling well, ready to learn, and able to participate successfully in their education.
If your child is experiencing symptoms such as fever, vomiting, diarrhoea, significant fatigue, persistent coughing, or generally feeling unwell, we encourage you to keep them at home until they are feeling better. This helps reduce the spread of illness throughout our College community and protects students and staff, particularly those who may be more vulnerable to infection.
Good hygiene habits also play an important role in keeping our community healthy. Encouraging regular handwashing, covering coughs and sneezes, and staying home when unwell are simple but effective ways to reduce the spread of illness.
Thank you for your continued support in helping us maintain a healthy learning environment. By working together, we can support the wellbeing of all students and ensure our classrooms remain safe and productive places for learning.
Healthy students learn better, recover faster, and help keep our whole community well.
