CHAPLAIN CHAT

It has certainly been a busy few weeks back at the College. I've enjoyed watching some of our students develop their shearing skills. A few even took the opportunity to share their wool-sorting knowledge with me throughout the afternoon. While I wasn't quite brave enough to give it a go myself, I was impressed by the confidence and enthusiasm our students showed as they took it all in their stride under the watchful eye of Mr Adams.

A big shoutout to our students who have joined the local Harvey basketball competition. They have represented themselves and the College exceptionally well, always demonstrating a willingness to help wherever needed. It is a real blessing for our local sporting clubs to have our students involved, including the cricket club, and it is wonderful to see them making such a positive contribution to the Harvey community. Their attitude, sportsmanship, and commitment are a credit to both themselves and the College.

I was thrilled to be invited to the Residential Christmas Dinner, which was a fantastic and very successful evening. It was wonderful to see so many students getting involved. From setting up and decorating to packing down and cleaning up, our students were more than happy to lend a hand and contribute to the event's success. A special mention must go to Annabelle, who could walk straight into a career in event coordination and management. Her organisation, initiative, and attention to detail were outstanding and played a big part in making the evening such a success.

Another special mention goes to Zach for taking the initiative to establish the weekly Run Club. I am incredibly proud of his enthusiasm, leadership, and persistence in getting it up and running. He certainly doesn't give up easily, and he successfully convinced both Mr Dyson and Mr Swallow to join the club. The Run Club meets on Tuesday afternoons and Thursday mornings and has been a great way for students and staff to get active together.

As we move towards the Year 11 students’ final weeks at the College, I encourage our students and families to support our annual Christmas Gift Drive by donating gifts for local children and young people. This is a wonderful opportunity for our College community to make a positive difference in others' lives and bring extra joy to families in need during the festive season. Every donation, no matter how big or small, is greatly appreciated and will help make Christmas a little brighter for local children.

Our students and staff are already bringing in gifts and are excited to sort and wrap presents during Residential time over the coming weeks. This is a wonderful opportunity to spread kindness and make a positive difference in others' lives. I know many of our students would also welcome the opportunity to help deliver the gifts to local schools and see first-hand the impact of their generosity. We will make decisions about gift deliveries closer to the date.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support these wonderful initiatives.
