Beef
This week, the College bulls underwent semen testing in collaboration with Farm West this week. Weaners were weighed, and health checks were completed to determine the best market for the future.
Hay and silage
We've been super busy between weekly rain showers making hay and silage. Hay and silage production has been a major focus for farm staff, with work continuing to secure sufficient feed supplies for the coming season. To date, 677 rolls of silage and 194 bales of hay have been produced, with further work still underway. Where machinery is suitable for student training, students have had opportunities to drive under supervision.
