Junior School

Edmund Rice Day

Tuesday’s Edmund Rice Day was yet another uplifting occasion, bringing to life our Spirit of Community and our mantra of Men for Others. The incredible generosity of our Junior School families made the much-loved cake stall a resounding success, raising an impressive $2,868.50. Thank you to everyone who donated delicious cakes, slices, and biscuits. Your support truly made a difference.

The day began with a beautiful Mass, reflecting on our identity as a school and honoring the lasting impact of Blessed Edmund Rice. Following Mass, the Fun Run for India saw students pushing themselves to run the whole distance or simply enjoying the beautiful weather and camaraderie with peers. We are proud of all the boys who participated and grateful to those who contributed to the fundraising initiative.

The celebration continued with a lively fair, hosted by Senior School PCGs. The campus buzzed with excitement as students and staff came together to enjoy the festivities, strengthening connections across all year levels.

Edmund Rice Day is a powerful reminder of the College values, history and mission. Thank you once again for your support in making this event so special.

End of Day Collection

As always, student safety is our top priority. To ensure all boys are supervised and can transition safely at the end of the school day, we ask families to follow these key guidelines:

  • Boys will remain in the Junior School Undercover Area until collected by an adult or older sibling. Boys who are attending clubs will be supervised by the duty teacher.

  • Students who catch the bus will be accompanied to the bus stop by a duty teacher. No Trinity College students are to catch the CAT bus prior to 3.30pm.

  • Parents may use street parking on Salaini Ave, allowing boys to walk safely to their car once they have sighted their parent. There have been some ‘near misses’ which parents and students crossing the road. Please take care and be mindful of the busyness of the Salaini Ave before and after school.

Additionally, a reminder that the car park near Junior School is strictly for staff parking. For the safety of all students, this area must not be used as a pickup or drop-off point.

God Bless,

Year 5/6 da Vinci Decathlon 2025

On Wednesday, 14 May Year 5 White Teacher David Penco and myself accompanied the Junior School Year 5 and Year 6 teams to the Da Vinci Decathlon held at the University of Western Australia, hosted by St Hildas. The Da Vinci Decathlon is an academic competition designed to challenge and stimulate the minds of school students. Students compete in teams of eight across 10 disciplines: engineering, mathematics, code breaking, art and poetry, science, English, ideation, creative producers, cartography and legacy.

Over 50 schools were represented, and Winthrop Hall buzzed with excitement and a zest for learning, exploring and creating. Our Junior School boys competed with great enthusiasm and did the College proud with their Endeavor and positive attitude. They cannot wait to participate next year.
