SUSTAINABILITY NEWS
This week, our Prep, Grade 1 & 2 children worked in our Emmaus Garden planting beans, snow peas and silverbeet. Some students mulched our strawberry plants and watered them with worm wee from our worm farms. It is good to see our veggie crops growing better with good rain and sunshine.
Our Grade 5 & 6 students worked on our fruit trees and raspberries, digging around the plants, adding manure and mulch. It was good to see students working well together in the fresh air and sunshine!
We are very grateful to have our garden volunteers, Stan Andrewartha, Sally Innes and Wendy Atkinson come along on Thursdays to work with our students on our garden program. Having volunteer help enables us to work with more students each week in our school gardens.
If you are interested in being a Garden volunteer, please let our school office know.
