Principal Update

St Francis, Nathalia is a child safe school.

We promote the safety, wellbeing and inclusion of all children.

An update from our Principal

Dear Parents, Care Givers, Students, Staff and Friends of St Francis Primary School,

As we close out Term 3, we celebrate the Feast Day of our Patron Saint St Francis of Assisi.

St Francis, who founded the Catholic Church’s Franciscan order, lived in Italy during the late 12th and 13th centuries. He is remembered for his generosity to the poor and his willingness to minister to the lepers. He is remembered for his love for animals and nature.  St Francis died at Portiuncula, Italy on October 4, 1226.  Pope Gregory IX pronounced St Francis a saint in 1228.

Mass will be conducted at the community centre involving students from both St Francis’ and SMOTA in our feast day celebration.

The day is one of fun activities with our very own Grade 6 students entering a car in the annual Show ‘n’ Shine event at SMOTA and then participating in the Grand Prix demonstration race where they will compete against the SMOTA administration staff.

Looking forward to a fun-filled day for all!

It was great to see so many attend our Athletics sports last Friday. Students gave their all for their house and the sportsmanship on display was tremendous.

Once again Banyard took home the trophy!

We close out Term 3 at 2:20pm Friday 19th September.

Term 4 begins October 6th, and we are excited to welcome Dom Izzard to our team here at St Francis, in a deputy principal role, supporting the current leadership team. Dom has been Acting Principal at St Joseph’s PS Numurkah and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team. Please join me in welcoming Dom next term!

On a more personal note, I would like to thank you all for your support over these last few weeks and wish Matt Carver a speedy recovery.

Almighty God, as we ask your help for our brothers and sisters who are ill, we ask you to help us to be healing people in our time and place. May your love touch others through us, and may I help all people to live in peace. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

With Peace and Goodwill,

Rosina Gemmill

Acting Principal
