In the classroom

Foundation/1

In week 8 we had the Kinder children come visit our school as a part of the transition program for the 2026 Foundation children. The Foundation/Grade Ones helped support the Kinder children with creating art inspired by two books – 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' and 'Pig the Pug'. They also showed great leadership in showing the younger children where and how to play out in the yard. Lots of fun was had by all!

Grade 1/2

Grade 1/2 finished off our term of learning about history by making butter by shaking a jar of cream with a marble inside. We discovered that making whipped cream was easy, but it was harder and harder and we just had to keep going and shaking it until we had butter and it made a liquid and the solid lump of butter.

We then got to taste our butter by making some fairy bread.

Grade 1-2 have had a great term of learning, it has been fantastic to see the improvements in our reading, writing and maths skills.

Grade 3/4

To finish off a very busy term, filled with many events including Book Week, swimming, athletics and St. Francis Feast Day, the 3/4 class focused on Psalm 148 and the St. Francis of Assisi prayer, The Canticle of Creation, creating some drawings of the amazing natural features of our world.

Grade 4/5

The Year 5 students reflected on the Book Week book ‘We Live in a Bus’. Students made connections to the book and their own life experiences. They created landscapes with line, shape and colour that predicted the wonders of Australia.

Grade 6

Last week, students finished reading our class novel “Us Mob Walawurru” and responded by writing a character analysis on the main character Ruby. Students also finished off their Decimals unit, understanding how to add and subtract decimals using different strategies. This week, students have continued to create their Grand Prix car for the Show and Shine and Race on Friday! They have also been busy painting their T-Shirts ready for the day.
