Congratulations Chelsea Litchfield on her outstanding umpiring at the 2026 Diocesan Netball Selections. Chelsea had 8 games to umpire (16 minute games) and ensured contests occurred and confidently managed the emotions of netballers on the court.  Chelsea maintained this high standard of umpiring while officiating girls who routinely play A grade across various competitions throughout the Riverina, which is no easy task.

AFL Gala Day Wrap-Up (Senior Girls)

Our team took to the field at the recent gala day with incredible spirit and determination, despite being formed at the very last minute. In fact, many of the players were learning the rules just 10 minutes before running onto the field for their first game, a true testament to their courage and willingness to give it a go!

The team enjoyed two fantastic wins against Wade High School (10–1) and West Wyalong (8–1), showcasing great teamwork, enthusiasm, and growing confidence as the day progressed.

They also faced two tough matches, going down to St Francis (21–0) and Leeton High (9–7). The game against Leeton High was a particularly close contest, with our team pushing right to the final moments. St Francis proved to be a very strong side, remaining undefeated throughout the day and typically winning their matches by margins of over 40 points.

Overall, it was an outstanding effort by all players. Their determination, resilience, and positive attitude throughout the day made us incredibly proud. For a team that came together so quickly, their performance was nothing short of impressive.

Well done to all the girls involved!

Opens boys rugby league

On Wednesday evening the Opens boys rugby league team travelled to Yanco sports ground to take on St Francis College Leeton. The first half was an even contest , with both teams exchanging tries in the first half. Marian boys were trailing 10-4 at half time.

The second half continued in a similar fashion to the first half. Both teams exchanged blows in what was a very physical encounter. With 10 minutes remaining on the clock, Marian was trailing 20-16. Unfortunately, with limited numbers on the bench and tiring legs, we conceded two late tries to finish 30-16.

The team is to be commended for their sustained effort for the entire game, never taking a backward step in a physical game. Orlando Guidolin scored twice and Christian Northeast crossed once. Thank you to those who made the effort to come and support the team.
