Aim High Program Launches Off!

On Wednesday 29th April, the 2026 Westall Aim High students began their project work for this school year. In 2026, students in the Aim High Program will undertake an ongoing project to help enhance their knowledge and skills and challenge them to higher limits.

Junior Project

The Year 7 and 8 Aim High students will be working in groups to complete a project focused around space exploration, human civilisation, and marketing!

This project is called the Westall UFO Expedition – students will work together to produce a speculative presentation that focuses on:

  • The maths and science of space travel
  • Research into Westall history, as well as larger research into UFO conspiracies and probably explanations.
  • Creation of marketing materials and letters
  • Cultivation of documents and artefacts that represent human civilisation throughout history and cultures.

Year 9 Project

The Year 9 Aim High students will complete an individual project this year.

They will conduct research on a notable figure from history and present this information in a ‘Night of Notables’ expo, complete with:

  • Posters with key information
  • A display with artefacts and paraphernalia relevant to that person
  • An opportunity for visitors to ask questions of the students, who will be ‘in character’ (maybe even in costume!)

Our Aim High Presentation Evening will take place in Term 4. Please keep a lookout for information on school social media.

Thank you,

Anna Papagiannopoulos

If you are interested in having instrumental lessons as school, talk to Mr Coco and he will talk to you about any questions you may have. The lesson time changes each week, so you don’t miss out on the same class every time. Lesson times are 35 minutes in duration.

Lesson fees are $120 for the year and an extra $100 for instrument hire. (For Drums, guitar/bass guitar or Piano/ Keyboard instrumental hire does not apply). If you are eligible for the CSEF (if your parents/guardians) have a Health Care Card, you don’t have to pay these fees. If you are unsure, ask Mr Tran at the front office.

Instrumental music enrolment forms may be collected from the front office or from Mr Coco or Mrs Mcalister (Instrumental Music room).
