Attn: Infants/Primary Parents - Eye Health Program
Boorowa Central School has been given the opportunity to participate in the Lions Eye Health Program. This service is being provided free of charge courtesy of the Lions Club of Young.
This vision screening can help identify any children who may require further eye examination by an optometrist. The vision screening requires children to complete four assessments which only take a few minutes to perform.
The four assessments include:
- Visual acuity
- Colour perception
- Depth perception
- Spot Vision Camera
Lions Club members conduct the screening assessments. They have been specifically trained and hold valid Working with Children Checks.
If a vision problem is detected it will be written on the child’s result sheet and you will be encouraged to see a further eye examination with an eye health professional.
We are grateful to the Lions Club for offering this service to our students.
If you haven't already returned a form please complete the attached form and return it to the office.
GSD support at Boorowa Central School
As members of the Boorowa community, we encourage our students to be caring and respectful individuals who value their peers of different backgrounds and lifestyles. In an ever-changing world, we hope to prepare students with the skills they need to succeed. Part of this comes with students feeling safe and accepted in their environment and allowing others to feel the same. Gender and Sexuality Diversity (GSD) are ever present in the world in and beyond school. To assist students who identify as Gender and/or Sexuality Diverse, and educate others on GSD matters, Boorowa Central School has appointed two GSD Advisors to the school. Mrs Lauren Crockett and Mrs Courtney White as the GSD Advisors are available to answer questions, support students and families, and educate staff to ensure Boorowa Central School is a safe place for all students.
