Student pick-up on Dry Street

I have a safety request for all parents who pick up their child(ren) from Dry Street.

Please do not pick up your child(ren) from Dry Street as it is creating an unsafe environment. Students are crossing the street between buses and around moving traffic, not at a designated crossing. With the number of buses, cars and students all moving in this area at school pick-up, it is becoming very challenging for staff to maintain all students' safety when exiting the school.

Please pick your child(ren) up from either Pudman Street, Farm Street or Brial Street at the bottom oval gate entrance. This will ensure we can keep your children safe at pick-up.

If you have any questions or concerns, please give me a call at the school to discuss further.

Merit Events

Congratulations to the students who were invited to attend term 1 Merit events. Students were invited if they received 60 merits this term. Merits are issued to students who display exceptional application and effort to their learning.

Our Infants and Primary students enjoyed snacks, squash and lawn bowls at the Boorowa ex-services club on Wednesday afternoon whilst our secondary students threw a line in the river to catch a monster fish or two.

Well done students and keep up the great work.

Lions Club Donation

The Lions club of Boorowa have generously donated $500 to the newly established Boorowa Central School Show Team program. The money will be used to continue to purchase essential equipment so that the students have access to the resources essential for participation and success in the program.

Thank you to the Lions Club of Boorowa for their support.

Easter Hat Parade

I thoroughly enjoyed another Easter Hat parade with our students and the students from St Joseph’s Primary School and Boorowa Early Education Centre this year. All of the students had a great time parading their Eater hats and meeting the Easter Bunny helper at the Rec ground last Wednesday. It is always pleasing to see so many of the parents and community members join us for what is becoming a very popular day in the calendar. Thank you all for joining us.

ANZAC Day

Each year, Boorowa Central School students and staff participate in the Boorowa community ANZAC Day march and ceremony. It is always a special occasion that is widely participated in by the general community. The community love seeing our students get involved in such an important occasion and appreciate that the memory of the ANZAC’s will continue with the next generation.

Students and staff are asked to meet on the corner of Marsden and Queen Street, outside the old post office at 10.15 for a 10.30am march. Students are to wear their full winter school uniform for the occasion.

I look forward to seeing many of our students for the march.

Enjoy a safe and relaxing school holiday

This is the final Newsletter for the Term so I would like to take this opportunity to wish all of our families a safe and relaxing school holiday break. I hope you all get the chance to enjoy each other’s company doing fun and exciting things so that everyone can look forward to Term 2 and the year ahead.
