YSAS Reconnect program

During term 3, the year 9 students participated in a workshop in their classes run by YSAS (Youth Support and Advocacy Service) in Ringwood.
The YSAS sessions aim to educate and empower young people by providing clear, age-appropriate information on:
- Why young people may experiment with substances
- How different drugs affect the brain and body
- Risks and potential short- and long-term consequences
- Practical harm-minimisation strategies
- Skills for managing peer pressure and making informed decisions
All content was delivered in a judgement-free, supportive environment designed to foster awareness, resilience, and wellbeing.
Students participated in hands-on activities, including the use of alcohol and cannabis goggles, to understand how substances affect spatial awareness and decision-making. See some of the photos below.
