P&F BPS Community Christmas Appeal

Thank you for all of your incredibly generous gift donations. What an incredible response to this Christmas appeal from our community, once again.

Yesterday, the JSC leaders - Alfie, Joseph, Rachael and Billy, delivered these donations to St Martin's Beaumaris Uniting Church. Both Nick, the Council Chair, and Chris, the Minister, were thrilled to receive the donations on behalf of the appeal. They further explained the positive impact these gifts will have for members of the community doing it tough, and were blown away by our school community's generous spirit. Nick shared that "these generous donations of Christmas gifts will bring great joy to those who don't have the resources or opportunities that the rest of us have - sharing is caring!".

These gifts will be delivered to Family Life in Sandringham, where they will then be distributed to those in need.

Congratulations to Alfie, Joseph, Rachael and Billy on leading, promoting and organising this appeal.

Thank you BPS community for helping make a difference to others this festive season!

Year 6 Market Day - This Friday!

Our Year 6 students have been busy designing and creating a wonderful range of handmade products as part of their Economics unit. Their learning has focused on understanding how our economy works, including budgeting, calculating profit, manufacturing goods, and preparing to sell their products.

The Year 6 Market Day will be taking place this Friday, 5th December.

Students across the school, from Prep to Year 5, will have the opportunity to visit the Market Day stalls and purchase items such as fidget tools, Christmas gifts, and bracelets. All products are priced in whole dollar amounts to make transactions easy, with most items ranging from $1–$5.

If your child would like to make a purchase, please send them with money on the day. Please note there will be no food or drink items available.

We look forward to celebrating the creativity and hard work of our Year 6 students and sharing a fun experience with the whole school community.

Bring along a picnic rug, nibbles and enjoy the event. There will be a sausage sizzle available, too.

Beaumaris Primary School has a deep commitment to the Child Safe Standards, as such, no alcohol is permitted on the school site. Should community members choose to breach the Child Safe Standards, they will be asked to leave the ground immediately.

Please be mindful of allergies within our community when selecting food to bring along.

Parents & Friends will be running a 2nd Hand Uniform stall. Please remember to check for any lost property that may be yours before the 9th December. If you'd like to donate any uniform that can be sold, it's not too late. Please drop it off at the office by the 9th December.

World Children's Day at Beaumaris PS

On Thursday 20 November, Beaumaris Primary School proudly joined schools around the world to celebrate World Children’s Day!

World Children’s Day, organised by UNICEF, is all about recognising and promoting children’s rights and celebrating the voices, talents, and potential of young people everywhere. It reminds us that every child deserves to grow up safe, happy, healthy, and heard.

This year’s theme encouraged children to stand up for their rights and make some noise for change!

At BPS, students marked the occasion with joy and enthusiasm. At 2:29pm, music played over the bell and the school came alive with a short whole-school dance party! Students sang, danced, and celebrated together as they headed home, a fun way to end the day.

It was a wonderful celebration of the importance of listening to and empowering children, and a reminder of the difference young voices can make in shaping a brighter future.

Congratulations to our Girls Lacrosse Team!

Last Friday 28th we had our girls lacrosse team compete at the state finals! Congratulations to the girls who are all new to lacrosse but worked really hard to finish in an amazing 3rd place!

Volunteering at BPS

Beaumaris Primary School highly values our community and the support we receive from parents and carers in many different aspects of school life. We welcome the opportunity for parents and carers to volunteer within our school across a range of different school-based activities.

In previous years, we have held information sessions to provide volunteers with the required information in order to volunteer. This year, we have created a digital Volunteer Handbook and an online induction process to ensure that the information is accessible to parents/carers at a time that suits them.

If you would like to volunteer at Beaumaris Primary School, the process will now be:

  • Read the below BPS Volunteer Handbook, which includes the below policies and documents:
    • BPS Child Safety and Wellbeing Policy
    • BPS Child Safety Code of Conduct Policy
    • BPS Child Safety Responding and Reporting Policy
    • BPS Volunteers Policy
    • BPS Volunteer Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Induction Handbook.

  • Complete this online form, which includes both the Volunteer OHS Induction Checklist and the Volunteering at Beaumaris Primary School Questionnaire (https://forms.office.com/r/X1JfFrAPsa).

  • Email a scanned copy or provide in person for photocopying a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) card to the office staff.

The above process will need to be completed prior to volunteering at Beaumaris Primary School. This process can be completed at any stage throughout the year, at a time that suits you.

We thank you for your interest in volunteering and supporting our students, staff and school community.
