Education Support

My name is Harrison Gray, I am an Education Support Assistant at Plenty River College. I completed my formal education at Greensborough Secondary College and was awarded my VCE certificate after graduating in the class of 2022. This current position is my first in an educational setting and I’m hoping to gain lasting skills throughout my tenure at the school that will build my skillset to support students with their academic learning. I work hard to have a positive impact on the students I work with, and I help them to learn and grow not only academically but also to help them as they try to establish who they are and who they wish to become.

I am curious to see where this employment adventure will go and I will be prepared to face and work through any challenges that lie ahead. I am enjoying learning and growing in this field.

Silvia Kanda:

Venturing into an education career 6 years ago has been by far the best decision I ever made, mainly because I am passionate about helping students attain their goals. I was a teacher of English and literature back in Kenya in all-boys high school and I enjoyed every bit of it. I moved to Australia to do Master of Education (special education advanced) in Torrens University, which I am almost completing-it’s been a journey. I am excited to put what I have learned to practice.

Getting a spot at Plenty River College as Education support has been amazing, gets even better every day as I learn from the amazing staff at school and students as well. I also enjoy cooking, playing badminton and watching movies. I look forward to learning from more experienced staff and students even more!
