St Anne's College Art Exhibition - a huge success!

St Anne’s College’s first Art Exhibition was a huge success!! Students and their families thoroughly enjoyed viewing the incredible talent at St Anne’s College yesterday. The students were especially excited to point out their own artistic masterpieces to their families as they wandered through the exhibition.

Artworks ranged from clay sculptures, beaded creations, selfies on painted backgrounds, lino printing, self-portraits, 3D cardboard prints and so much more! It was a true display of the incredibly talented visual arts learning mentors we have here at the college – a huge shout out to Mark, Ellie and Kate – as well as the amazing talents of our students.

The event was also a chance to raise much-needed funds for the GV Pregnancy and Family Support Service with a BBQ.

We are already looking forward to next year’s exhibition!!

Shepparton News Commemorative Feature

We are so excited to be featured in last Friday's Shepparton News with a special edition magazine celebrating our incredible journey! After opening in 2019, we have hit milestone after milestone and this year is a momentous chapter in the St Anne's College journey.

The release coincided with saying farewell to our inaugural Year 12 students attended their special graduation ceremony and dinner. Many of the Year 12 students started at St Anne's College in Year 7 during our first year of operation in 2019. They have journeyed through the school's growth and during this time they have grown themselves.

We sent them onto their next chapter, firmly placed in St Anne's College history as our first ever graduating Year 12 cohort.

MACKILLOP ART EXHIBITION

A huge congratulations to our students for their incredible efforts in representing St Anne’s College at the MacKillop Art Exhibition opening. We are very proud to announce St Anne’s creative Visual Arts students were winners of both the primary and secondary Bishop Choice Awards. Year 11 student Charlotte and Year 5 student Bella were selected as the Bishop’s artworks of choice against stiff competition from students across the whole Sandhurst Diocese.

Year 1 student James was highly commended in the Primary Spiritual Award category. While Year 5 students Jemma, Avaya and Guneet are finalists for the People’s Choice Award. You can vote for these artworks at: https://tinyurl.com/2p9am8ya

It is so fantastic to share these incredible achievements – a huge congratulations to all involved and to Visual Arts Learning Mentor Mark for guiding the students through this awesome opportunity.

Advent Liturgy

Students in the School of Wonder and School of Innovation came together this morning to participate in an Advent Liturgy, lighting the first advent candle. The first Advent candle is the candle symbolising hope, the expectation felt in anticipation of the coming of Christ.

The four weeks prior to Christmas are the Season of Advent. Advent today is a season to prepare for Christmas when Christ’s first coming to us is remembered and also a season when that remembrance directs the mind and heart to await Christ’s Second Coming at the end of time.
