SCHOOL OF POSSIBILITIES

Year 12 Graduation Ceremony and Dinner

Congratulations to the Year 12 students for officially graduating from St Anne’s College!

The Year 12 students celebrated this incredibly momentous occasion with a special ceremony on Friday last week. The evening began at the College where students were presented with their graduation certificates. This was followed by a special dinner event at the Woolshed at Emerald Bank with special speeches and the presentation of awards.

It is the final step in our Year 12 students’ journey which is also an incredibly important step in the St Anne’s College journey as these students become the inaugural graduating class and inaugural college alumni.

We wish you all the very best on your next chapter!

Early Commencement Program: 25 November - 6 December

This week we commenced formal classes with our Unit 1 and Unit 3 students for 2025.  The students have embraced this challenge in a positive manner and have been fully engaged in their classes.  Our Year 12 students have been using their study classes productively and have been allocated an area specifically designed for this purpose.  It has been wonderful to watch our Year 12 students quietly working on tasks in their study time. Many students have taken it upon themselves to commence holiday homework this week which demonstrates the learner assets of self-managers, researchers, communicators and collaborators to the full extent. We encourage all students to use the two weeks of ECP to its fullest to make a positive start to their VCE studies.

We welcome a number of new teachers to the Senior School to teach our VCE students next year and for the early commencement classes this week and next.

Emma O’Keeffe is taking on our Unit 3&4 Health and Human Development class. Emma is an experienced health teacher who is dedicated and committed to ensuring that she gets the best out of all of her students.  We thank Emma who is taking this class in addition to her duties and role with the School of Wonder.

We welcome Georgia Sofra as a new staff member to our school. Georgia will be teaching a range of senior math classes. Our students are fortunate to have such a wonderful, knowledgeable, enthusiastic and experienced teacher to guide them in their studies next year.

Kaitlin Bonner will be teaching Unit 1&2 Food Studies and Health and Human Development.  For an early career teacher Kaitlin’s preparation, teaching of classes and knowledge of her subject areas is second to none. We are thrilled to welcome Kaitlin as a teacher in the senior secondary school next year.

Leadership Day - 2025 Year 12 students - Thursday 5 December

We will hold our Leadership Day for the 2025 Year 12 students next week on Thursday at Belcibo & Co in Fryers St Shepparton. Students need to attend school first thing in the morning and be marked off in Pastoral Group and should be here at the expected time of 8.55am.  After PG time students will then go by bus to Belcibo & Co. The day is designed to bring the group together as a whole and to guide our student leaders in a number of workshops. The day will be facilitated by Kate Wilde who is an engaged presenter and has expertise in working with school groups and leadership groups. Morning tea and lunch will be provided on the day. All dietary requirements have been forwarded to the venue and these will be catered for on the day.

After lunch students will partake in some group activities and will complete some goal setting for Year 12.  Students will be dismissed from the venue at 2.30pm and are asked to make their own way home. Students can walk to the bus exchange at NDC to catch their usual bus home or make other arrangements. If any student has any difficulty getting home they are asked to communicate this with either Mez or Sarah.

Booklist and Resourcing for 2025

The booklist for 2025 has now been emailed home to families of Yr 10, 11 and 12 students in 2025, along with a letter explaining the resources and how to order. You will also find these important documents on PAM as well as a link below. A reminder that all students in Yr 10, 11 and 12 in 2025 must provide their own textbooks and stationery. It is very important that students start the 2025 year with the learning materials they require, to ensure they are prepared for success.
