Mental Health Month 2026
October is Mental Health Month - a gentle reminder to take care of our minds and hearts.
It’s a great reminder for individuals and families to slow down, connect, and talk about how everyone’s feeling - the good moments and the tough ones too.
Attached is this year’s 2026 Mental Health Month calendar, which includes daily tips throughout October for good mental health. These ideas and activities you can try together throughout the month and beyond.
Small, meaningful moments of connection can make a big difference to everyone’s wellbeing.
National Carer's Week 2026
Sunday 11 to Saturday 17 October is National Carer's Week.
Carers represent a diverse range of cultures, ages, experiences and responsibilities, but all of them balance of caring responsibilities with other responsibilities like work, study and their physical and mental health.
National Carers Week is an opportunity to recognise, celebrate and raise awareness about Australia's 3 million carers.
Celebrate and support diverse learners
October 2026 is Dyslexia Awareness Month and ADHD Awareness Month and Friday 16th October is Developmental Language Disorder Day. It’s a great opportunity to learn more about these conditions and how we can support diverse learners in school and at home.
About diverse learners
Diverse learners have characteristics of attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism, developmental language disorder (DLD) and learning difficulties such as dyslexia.
Our school is committed to inclusive education where all learners are supported by evidence-based teaching practices, which are essential for diverse learners.
Please see flyers for more information near the office area.

Respectful Relationship Curriculum
Across all year levels, we teach the Victorian Government's Resilience, Rights and Respectful Relationships curriculum, which includes age-appropriate learning about consent, personal boundaries, respectful relationships and protective behaviours.
In Prep to Grade 2, we focus on helping children understand bodily autonomy, recognising and respecting personal boundaries, understanding that they can say no to unwanted physical contact, and identifying trusted adults who can help them feel safe. Our Health curriculum also introduces children to appropriate anatomical language, private body parts and personal safety. As children move through the school, these concepts are revisited and developed in increasingly sophisticated ways.
In Grades 5 and 6, students learn more explicitly about puberty, adolescence, respectful relationships, consent in different contexts, and strategies for keeping themselves safe, including online.
Below are two resources that may assist families in speaking to their children about consent.
