SPC Cycling Central Australia

As the end of the year approaches, we are getting close to the end of all club events in Alice nut the past weekend was no exception to the variety of events and inclement weather.

BMX Presentations on Friday night were a challenge as the rain started to fall during the day. Racing was cancelled for the night but there were still a load of fun events between showers as the BMX Track had its last workout for the 2022 season. As you can see the night took more of a fun feel with some 2023 students enrolled for Year 7 doing it with a sidecar BMX.

There will be some training for those riders going to the National Championships 21-27 November. We are wishing Kit Williams, Caleb Nichol and Reece Cole well for these National Championships as they Strive for a Number Plate in the top 8 Riders of the Country. Goodluck gentlemen.

The Red Centre BMX 6 round series saw a few of our riders reach the podiums on Friday night as Club Champions for 2022 so a big well done to them all.

  • DJ Brooks - 1st Place 17-24yrs
  • Reece Cole - 2nd place 14-16yrs
  • Caleb Nichol - 3rd place 14-16yrs
  • Andrea Gailey - 1st place 11-13yrs
  • Dave Atkins - 1st place 35+ Cruiser class
  • Dave Atkins - 2nd place 35+ 20" class

MTB Hour of Power #2

With one of our windiest and most ferocious storms in a long time within an hour of the event, debris was scattered all over the track with many racers helping to clear as they rode a practice lap.

Starting just a few minutes late with some of the track marking flying off across the country, the second in the series was fun with the dampened soil providing a fast and fun trail before more rain just as the last riders finished off their last laps.

The racing is intense with one more to go on Saturday 19 November at 6:15pm from Kurrajong Drive. Be sure to register if you are keen to join in the fun but don't forget to have some lights. Register: my.raceresult.com/188710
