House Report
Hopkins
The Hopkins House is rallying to the end of the year with lots of fantastic news and events to share. We have recently announced our Hopkins House Leaders for 2019 and are very proud to have Flynn Gurry and Chloe Wines representing the House in 2019 as Captains. We congratulate all our student leaders and are very excited for 2019. We also can’t wait to see the ideas you bring to the front at leadership camp next week.
Philanthropic:
Since our last report we have had the annual Hopkins PJ Day, which was a great success. The sale of our soups and bread rolls were a hit and the heated donuts were also very popular. The day went extremely well thanks to the support from our student leaders and Hopkins staff members. We have also sold a signed Brisbane footy jumper and a signed Hockeyroos top with all funds going directly to Francis Foundation. The foundation supports men with mental illness within the Warrnambool community and we are very proud to support such a worthy cause.
Flynn Gurry’s EP Release:
We send a very big congratulations to our house celebrity Flynn Gurry on the release of his self-titled EP. We know the EP has been in the works for many years and we are extremely excited for your musical future. You can check out the EP on Spotify, iTunes or the Triple J unearthed website.
End of year house celebration
On Thursday the 29th of November we are having our first annual Hopkins Blue Tie Gala during periods 3 & 4. We will be having a formal sit-down lunch in the canteen (Italian Themed), with presentations to follow. We hope to see you all there.
Here at Hopkins we have fun by working hard and staying positive. We wish students the very best for upcoming exams and remind all our students that “you have to risk it to get the biscuit”.
Logans
Farewelling Year 12s
Logans congratulated our Year 12 students recently with a whole House assembly, recognising their efforts over the course of a challenging year. We look forward to the celebration of their Graduation this evening and wish every Year 12 student the best with their future pathway.
Our Year 12s have had a terrific year and can be seen in the attached photo getting into the spirit of the Tradie-themed dress-up day earlier this year, wearing their very best ‘Hard Yakka’ expressions!
End of Semester Celebration
Logans are looking forward to celebrating our year with a trip to see The Grinch and share a pizza lunch together next Thursday, 29th November. We kindly request that families provide consent on Compass by Monday – there is no cost associated with this activity. We’re really looking forward to getting into the festive spirit!
